Senior Oracle Database Administrator at Kforce Inc in Glastonbury, Connecticut

Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce's client is seeking a hands-on, Senior Oracle Database Administrator/Database Architect for a contract to hire hybrid position onsite in Hartford, CT or Middleton, Wi, 3 days a week - Tuesdays Wednesdays and Thursdays (no exceptions) from day one.

Summary:
In this role, the Database Administrator must have leadership experience as well as a strategic mind set. This position is to serve as the principal point of contact for operational/technical support with respect to the database administration. In addition to being responsible for maintaining database(s) and applications, the Senior Oracle Database Administrator will also help define, establish, hire and oversee a small team of contracted offshore DBA's to assist with providing database management and support.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 4+ years of database administration and architecture experience in an enterprise environment required


• Extensive hands-on experience with Oracle version 19x software and utilities required


• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server software and utilities desired or the willingness and ability to quickly learn


• Experience building, maintaining, securing, and backing up databases across multiple platforms


• Proven experience configuring and optimizing database solutions


• Experience providing enterprise application and database operational support


• Experience as a team lead with the ability to breakdown projects/service requests into distinct tasks, assign work, and foster a collaborative environment


• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management both verbally and in writing


• Must have experience with PowerShell AND experience with PL/SQL and T-SQL programming experience


• Ability to script repetitive tasks, especially with PowerShell, is highly important


• Experience with database administration in cloud environments is desirable

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
