The automotive markets Holman serves include fleet management and leasing; vehicle fabrication and upfitting; component manufacturing and productivity solutions; powertrain distribution and logistics services; commercial and personal insurance and risk management; and retail automotive sales as one of the largest privately owned dealership groups in the United States.



The Compensation Manager will manage compensation and related projects on an ongoing basis to ensure that base, incentive and total compensation remains competitive and aligns with the external market.



What will you do?



  • Manage compensation and related projects on an ongoing basis to ensure that base, incentive and total compensation remains competitive and aligns with the external market

  • Review and propose compensation recommendations that adhere to the Company's commitment to pay equity

  • Stay informed about relevant labor laws and regulations to ensure the organization's compensation practices comply with legal requirements

  • Ensure completion of regular audits to ensure accuracy and fairness in compensation practices

  • Work with leadership to educate, communicate and consult on compensation issues

  • Manage development, communication, and calculation of incentive programs, conducting analysis of current incentive programs to determine plan effectiveness, consulting to management on best practices, updating plans and improving workflow processes.

  • Manage annual benchmarking and competitive market analyses and internal analyses as needed for both exempt and non-exempt jobs and recommend relevant updates to pay structures and individual pay

  • Manage the company's annual year-end compensation review process, including partnering with appropriate stakeholders in Finance, Talent Management, HR Technology & Analytics, and HR Business Partners; managing deployment of Workday and all documentation, preparing presentations for executive leadership and Board review

  • Manages relationships with external consultants and vendors, such as pay equity consultants, legal advisors, survey providers, communications support, and compensation/total rewards consultants

  • Manages data collection and execution of annual total rewards statements

  • Directly prepares compensation analyses on certain matters, including confidential employee issues, executive compensation issues, and compensation matters that relate to the company's strategic initiatives

  • In partnership with HR leadership and Internal Communications, develop compensation communications for it's respective lines of business, performing annual merit budget analysis, supporting the executive compensation process, annual bonus process and stock option grant process

  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned




What are we looking for?



  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification preferred

  • Proficient in various desktop tools including MS Office Programs (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, SharePoint etc.)



  • 3-5+ years' experience in compensation, including 2+ at a leadership level

  • Breadth and depth of technical or functional expertise in own area of responsibility or department; may be acquiring knowledge of other related areas of departments

  • Developing and implementing processes, methods, and tools to increase efficiency and accuracy



  • Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs

  • Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets

  • Has full authority for personnel actions

  • Extensive knowledge of department processes

  • Contributes to the development of vision and strategy

  • Works with other leaders to develop a common departmental vision or strategy

  • Adapts area/departmental plans and priorities to address business and operational challenges

  • Identifies and resolves technical, operational and organizational problems

  • Adjusts quickly to new or changing work environment

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent time management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills

  • Applies management expertise to set direction, resolve problems and provide guidance to employees in own area of responsibility or department

  • Manages team projects and project plans through execution

  • Influences or provides input to forecasting and planning resources; may manage allocated budget

  • Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and department or business plan; receives guidance from manager



  • Must have the ability to reason with others. Interactions require understanding, influencing, and supporting people through applying technical knowledge of rational arguments, aimed at causing action or acceptance by others.

  • Able to diplomatically resolve disagreements between HR and line management while keeping the company's best interests in mind.

Pay:



We offer competitive wages that are commensurate with job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and geographic location, starting in the range of $112,160.00 - $176,645.00 USD annually for full time employees. The annual compensation range is comprised of base pay and bonus earnings.
