The audit manager assists management in meeting their objectives by providing value-added consulting services focused on controls and efficiency.

Responsibilities

Plan and lead operational or managerial audits to ensure that company procedures and policies are properly followed. (15%) Plan and lead audits of compliance with regulatory requirements. (10%) Direct the day-to-day efforts of assigned audit personnel including review of workpapers. (10%) Direct audit staff and external auditors on designated assignments and provide technical leadership to staff. (10%) Responsible for overseeing the completion of assigned projects within deadlines and budgets and assessing audit staff performance on projects. Also provide input during annual employee reviews. (10%) Interact with employees and management at all levels and with external contacts. (10%) Plan and lead audits of vendor compliance with contracts. (5%) Evaluate operational/financial risks and the effectiveness of business operations. (5%) Assess business risk, analyze transaction flows and critically assess processes. (5%) Write highly complex audit reports consisting of audit findings and recommendations. (5%) Ensure action plans addressing audit findings are completed. (5%) Utilize software skills to retrieve, analyze and report audit information. (5%) Assist in the development of the annual audit plan. (5%) Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field. Seven years of auditing, risk management, finance or accounting experience. Professional certification (certified internal auditor or certified public accountant) and/or advanced degree. Leadership skills to provide instruction, orientation, training and guidance. Influencing skills to persuade, direct and lead opinion. Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills needed to recognize patterns in data, information or events and to draw logical conclusions and to make recommendations for action. Auditing skills to understand principles of internal control. Understanding and knowledge of COSO framework and Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements. Accounting/finance skills to interpret financial statements and to determine that accounting principles have been appropriately applied. Software skills to develop spreadsheets to analyze audit information to retrieve audit information from the appropriate software systems. Communication skills to transmit information accurately and understandably in both written and oral formats. Short-term/project management planning skills to plan work flow, coordinate projects and resolve conflicting demands. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently. Ability to travel locally, nationally and internationally up to 20% of the time; valid driver's license and passport.
