This is a hybrid work opportunity. The Company feels that three shared days in the office and two days with the option of working remotely allows for both collaborative time and quiet space for deep work. Eligible employees for hybrid work are required to work in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. There may be a need for additional office days based on specific business requirement.
Job Description
Under the direction of the Sr. Manager of IT Infrastructure Services, the Systems Administrator is responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, and supporting Servers and infrastructure support systems. This position will be responsible for conducting ongoing system health assessments, ensuring system resources to maintain operating efficiency, and applying a proactive approach to resolving system performance issues. The Systems Administrator will ensure their internal customers are served using strong problem solving and a sense of urgency to resolve issues and ensure systems are operating continually.
The Systems Administrator is responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, and supporting Servers, Virtualization Infrastructure, Backup Solutions, Endpoint Protection, SAN, and Enterprise Applications. Provides high-level technical support for Server/Client Operating Systems, Active Directory, Group Policy, Software Deployment, Email, Application/Server Virtualization, and System Performance.
Installs, configures, troubleshoots, and manages server/client operating systems, software, baseline configurations, and backups.
Acts as technical lead for server and systems related projects. Manages internal and external resources in support of those projects. Provides regular updates to management on the status of such projects
Maintains data backup solutions. Monitors and reports on status of backups. Coordinates and performs periodic restorations of systems/data to validate capabilities to recover systems when needed.
Manages VMware Server, Virtual Desktop and Application virtualization infrastructure.
Provision and maintain storage on the SAN to support data storage requirements for systems.
Works with outside agencies or organizations for support issues relating to server/client operating systems, Exchange, VMware, Citrix, SAN, and other systems.
Researches new technologies and system strategies. Develops business case and strategy for implementation where appropriate.
Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.
This position is required to respond to emergency calls on a 24X7 basis, and must be able to work off shift hours and weekends to maintain system functionality when necessary.
Minimum Qualification
Educational/Training Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
; may be supplemented with work experience.
Experience:
5
+ years of experience, including strong, demonstrated expertise of Windows operating systems, VMware Virtualization, Active Directory, O365, Rubrik, Zerto, network protocols/fundamentals.
Licenses/Certifications:
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or equivalent work experience - Required
VMware Certified Professional 6 - Data Center Virtualization (VCP6-DCV) or equivalent work experience - Required
Valid Driver's license
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Expert knowledge of Windows Server/Client operating system installation, configuration and maintenance.
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and GPO configuration and management
Expert knowledge of VMware virtualization.
Experience with Cloud computing technologies (MS Azure, IaaS, SaaS)
Experience with Cloud collaboration platforms (MS Teams
)
Experience with SAN infrastructure configuration and management.
Experience with Cisco UCS (Unified Computing System) Platform
Experience with Rubrik Enterprise Backup Software is a plus
Experience with networking and data center concepts.
Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
Ability to present facts and recommendations to Senior Management.
Must have a strong sense of urgency to bring problems to a timely resolution.
Ability to accurately and efficiently define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and take action.
Ability to maintain effective relationships with peers, Senior Management, management, and outside auditors.
