SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Software Engineer II.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Job Summary: SEACORP's Combat Systems Business Area is seeking an entry-level Software Engineer.
Responsibilities:
Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities
Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logicaland mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions incomputer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment
Appliesthe appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout thedevelopment life cycle
Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software,subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, informationprocessing techniques used, and information gathered from system users todevelop software
Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions,compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilitiesto resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input dataacquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standardsare met
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent engineering/technical degree with a concentration in computer science courses
Experience: At least 3 years’ experience and proven performance in software engineering, including problem analysis and resolution, requirements analysis and definition, design, code, and integration testing
Key Skills:
Proven knowledge and experience applying design patterns and object-oriented programming
Experience with C++ and/or Java
Candidate should be familiar with RedHat Enterprise Linux and git
Knowledge of container technologies and orchestration preferred
Experience with combat systems, control systems, QT, GPB, and AMQP is preferred
Experience with Database technologies such as Oracle, MariaDB, or MySQL
As a requirement of employment, all SEACORP employees must hold U.S. Citizenship

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Office & Computer Laboratories - This positions requires the following physical activities: Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and looking at computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting.
