Job Description:

Hoyle Tanner's Northeast Municipal Engineering Services Group (NEME) is seeking an experienced CADD Technician to join our team in our Portsmouth or Manchester, New Hampshire or Burlington, VT offices. As an Entry-Level CADD Technician at Hoyle Tanner, you will play a pivotal role in our civil engineering team. You will be responsible for supporting civil-site and environmental projects by creating detailed design drawings and assisting in the preparation of project documentation. This position offers a unique opportunity to work as part of a collaborative team while gaining firsthand experience with industry-leading software from Microsoft, AutoDesk, and REVIT.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drafting and Design: Create and maintain accurate and detailed engineering drawings, plans, and schematics using CAD software. Assist in the development of civil and environmental project design documentation.
• Collaboration: Work closely with project engineers, senior CAD technicians, and other team members to ensure project design and documentation meet project requirements and industry standards.
• Software Proficiency: Utilize a variety of software tools, including Microsoft Office Suite, AutoDesk AutoCAD, and REVIT, to complete design and drafting tasks efficiently.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct regular reviews of your work to ensure accuracy and completeness. Follow established company standards and best practices for drafting and design.
• Documentation: Assist in the preparation of technical reports, construction plans, and other project documentation as needed.
• Learning and Development: Stay up to date with the latest CAD software updates and industry trends through continuous learning and professional development.
• Teamwork: Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment, actively participating in team meetings and sharing knowledge and insights with colleagues.
• Work on infrastructure and civil engineering projects within an assigned team.
• Complete tasks with direction from the Project Engineer, Project Manager, or Senior CADD staff.
• Work as part of an integrated, multi-discipline team to develop electronic deliverables and plans.
• Use software and other tools to develop plan work.
• Gather and organize data and other electronic files to develop a complete folder structure for CADD deliverables.
• May attend site visits and meetings.
• Read and understand technical drawings and plan development guides or manuals.
• Demonstrate good writing and communication skills.
• Increase knowledge through continuous learning in and outside the organization.

Qualified Candidates:

• Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate degree or certification in computer-aided design (CAD) or a related field is a plus.
• Software Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoDesk, AutoCAD, and REVIT is preferred. Training will be provided if needed.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members and convey project information.
• Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
• Team Player: A collaborative and positive attitude to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new software tools and engineering standards.
• 2-7 Years of Experience
