SUMMARY

The Lead, B2B Content is responsible for leading the strategic development and execution of SHRM’s B2B content, both for enablement and flagship initiatives. This role combines high-impact content creation with innovative content strategy, focusing on multimedia content across various platforms such as articles, newsletters, podcasts, online content, and social media. The position requires a strong editorial background, expert stakeholder management, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams to enhance SHRM’s industry standing through exceptional B2B content.

Responsibilities:

  • Content Strategy and Creation: Develop and implement comprehensive content strategies for both sales enablement and flagship projects, ensuring consistency and quality across various formats including articles, video scripts, guides, industry reports, case studies, infographics, research insights, podcast outlines, and social media packages.
  • Collaboration and Management: Work closely with internal stakeholders, external agencies, and freelancers to produce and refine content, manage project budgets, and ensure cohesive messaging across all platforms and campaigns.
  • Lead Generation and Engagement: Plan and execute initiatives like webinars to attract and engage target audiences, fostering discussions around business challenges, HR transformation, and talent development.
  • Innovation and Research: Stay abreast of industry developments, economic trends, and global events to evolve content strategies and integrate emerging media and technologies to enhance audience engagement.
  • Ideation: Conceive, pitch, and execute in-depth enterprise stories that offer unique insights into the inner workings of major corporations, emerging industries, and transformative business trends. 
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate relationships with industry insiders, corporate leaders, and subject matter experts to access exclusive information and perspectives, enhancing SHRM’s content offering.
  • Performance Metrics: Monitor and report on the performance of content initiatives against goals, utilizing data to drive better engagement and reach.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • At least six (6) years in content creation, including aspects of marketing, with a strong preference for experience in B2B environments and engaging senior- and executive-level buyers.
  • At least three (3) years in a team leadership role.
  • Proven track record in developing sales enablement materials and content strategies that align with business goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects from conception through execution. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Expert understanding of content marketing strategies and market segmentation. 
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills with impeccable storytelling ability.
  • Proficiency in digital media tools, multimedia storytelling techniques, content management systems (Adobe Experience Manager preferred), and Microsoft Office suite.
  • A deep understanding of business principles, economic concepts, and corporate dynamics, especially the role of HR departments. 
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to distill complex information into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with a diverse audience. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and work collaboratively with teams across an organization.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit with a history of initiating innovative ideas and fostering collaborative opportunities.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and adapting to shifting priorities. 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in successful project management. 
  • Passionate about SHRM's mission and committed to advancing the HR profession

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Capable of performing essential duties with reasonable accommodations.
  • Work involves sitting, talking, hearing, and typing, with visual acuity required for keyboard usage, data analysis, and computer terminal operation.
  • Occasional light lifting may be necessary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work is regularly performed in a combination of office and conference settings and routinely uses standard office equipment.
  • Expected office presence of 3 days per week.
  • Minimal travel requirements, less than 10%

The hiring range for this position is $95,000 to $115,000 per year. This range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. SHRM offers a competitive and comprehensive total rewards package.
