Job Description Summary:

This role will own and oversee the program to ensure PayPal understands and strategically reacts to the ongoing card network changes. You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, Go-To-Market, Legal, Risk and Compliance teams, amongst others, at PayPal. You will work directly with cutting edge Gen AI tools to drive this program. Finally, you will have the opportunity to directly influence card networks and major payments players to improve the industry.

Meet our team:

The Payments Network Advisory team sits underneath the Payments Processing Product organization. We are a global team that drives cross-cutting programs to enable PayPal to meet payment network obligations.



Your way to impact:

The function will operate as the single source of truth for Network Scheme announcements across the company. Network scheme announcements and bulletins are received from our global bank partners and card networks. You will own the processes, technology, and resources responsible for recording, evaluating, and communicating the bulletins to PayPal stakeholders. You will also work with go to market teams to drive clear communications to our merchants on these changes. Finally, you will have to opportunity to interact and advocate with external network partners by attending regular meetings and participating in industry councils and forums.



Your day to day:



  • Maintain the Payment Network bulletin program for PayPal, advising stakeholders on product feature enhancements, rule changes, pricing, dispute resolution, security, etc. to ensure compliance.


  • Work with Generative AI teams to implement capabilities to drive process improvements and reduction of reliance on human review.


  • Drive strategy with networks to modernize bulletin processes to improve the overall payments ecosystem.


  • Operate leadership reporting forums to align strategic approaches to cross-network obligations such as tokenization.


  • Provide network compliance subject matter expertise to our payment solutions teams, making recommendations to ensure compliance with network requirements while always keeping consumer experience at the heart of that approach.


  • Drive communications of upcoming changes to external stakeholders including presentations to key merchants and development of public website materials





What you need to bring:



  • 8-12+ years of payments industry work experience, including direct experience working with card networks and card network rules.


  • Experience working closely with product and engineering teams to drive requirements, review tradeoffs and prioritize options.


  • Deep familiarity with payment processing technology and payment industry terminology.


  • Attention to detail, thought leadership, and passion to collaborate cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders.


  • Strong program management skills combined with a continuous improvement mindset.


  • Strong internal and external written communication skills.


  • Ability to summarize complex concepts into simple components.
