Greet, check in and check out patients
Handle patient payments by cash, check and credit card
Answer telephone
Prepare patient chart/records, including accessing and maintaining M-drive records
Verify and obtain copies of patient information, insurance, identification, and guardianship
File records
Schedule and confirm patient appointments
Maintain patient relationships and provide general customer/patient services
Assist with matching patients to dental students
Weekly, monthly, and quarterly maintenance of sterilizers
Maintain dental clinic and program supply inventory
Submit order requisitions for office and clinic supplies
Accept supply shipments for the dental department
Reconcile and maintain Clinic billing
Compile daily, monthly and annual reports
Compile student clinic attendance and scheduling data
Assess equipment needs for repair or replacement
Distribute and collect Quality Assurance charts and forms to clinic dentists
Replace and update forms in business office and clinic treatment room, and distribute them to faculty, staff and students
Responsible for applications and updates to maintain provider status for Medicaid dentist
Responsible for dental plan and State of Illinois database registrations, credentialing/re-credentialing, maintaining updates and attending webinars and conference calls (i.e. MEDI, IMPACT, HFS, DentaQuest, Liberty and Avesis)
Assist students with front office and clinic access when the clinic is closed
Laundry, inventory, and dispensing of lab coats and towels
Train and supervise part-time Dental Clinic Assistant
Minimum Qualifications:
OSHA and sterilization trained
Dental front office experience
Computer experience
Preferred Qualifications
Dental office management experience
Dental office software experience, such as Dentrix
