(Contingent upon available funding): 17.25 - 21.00, Hourly Work Schedule: M-F 8 am to 5 pm (hours may vary) Faculty Appt Period: Job Summary: Primary responsibility as Large Animal Barn supervisor includes overseeing and performing caretaking duties within the Large Animal Clinic of the Veterinary Medical Hospital. Responsible for maintaining inventory of feed, bedding, and supplies as well as barns and equipment (to include routine maintenance and repairs). This position is heavy in manual labor and requires the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and in excess of 50 pounds occasionally. High School/GED


Minimum of four years of related experience including care of large animals and use of farm equipment/machinery and two years of supervisory experience.


Must have valid driver's license.


Must be able to lift 50 plus pounds, stand on ladder, stoop and bend, and work overhead and below waist level for extended periods of time.


Must be self-motivated with organizational leadership abilities to supervise and delegate to employees. Must have excellent communication skills and be able to follow instructions, both written and verbal. Must have basic computer skills (MS Office) and email knowledge. Must have forklift trainer certification or be willing to become certified as a trainer.



Preferred Qualifications:


High School/GED


Seven years of related experience including care of large animals and use of farm equipment/machinery and three years of supervisory experience.
