(Contingent upon available funding): 22.30 - 28.00, Hourly Work Schedule: 8 am to 5 pm, nights and weekends as needed Faculty Appt Period: Job Summary: Analyze mechanical, electrical and thermodynamic problems in domestic, commercial, refrigeration systems and various Food Service appliances and appurtenances. Analyze mechanical, electrical, and gas problems in gas-fired kitchen equipment. Make repair or recommend solutions. Position is a primary resource for the repair and maintenance of the Departments' Food Service equipment and the HVAC-R systems associated with the kitchen facility and concession outlets. Perform preventative maintenance including, washing coils, greasing, oiling, changing belts and filters. Log activity and parts using preventative maintenance tracking program. Perform other duties as assigned in the support of the Athletics Facilities mission.
This is a non-exempt position (which indicates that the position is not exempt from overtime pay or comp/personal time accrual). Regular duty hours are Monday-Saturday, 8:00am -12:00pm and 1:00pm - 5:00pm. Work hours should not exceed 40 hours per week. Any deviation from regularly scheduled hours requires pre-approval from your supervisor. Hours may vary, depending upon equipment needs, to include some early morning, evening and/or weekend time. Event operations standby for Athletic and other events hosted in Athletic facilities will be required on a rotational basis.The employee in this position is required to be on rotating standby for emergencies and/or any other event after 5 p.m. on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. The employee in this position is required to work overtime when work requires it. The employee in this position is required to work shift work when work can't be accomplished during regular hours, and when the Management staff deems necessary.The incumbent will be required to provide their own basic hand tools and maintain them in good working condition. Must use appropriate personal protective equipment as required (gloves, safety glasses, etc.). These items are not for personal use. Must be able to perform snow and ice removal tasks, and respond at any time of the day or night when scheduled by management regardless of the weather conditions. Some irregular and extra hours as needed for projects and emergencies. Emergencies frequently involve difficult working conditions. This may require work during non-business hours which include evenings, Saturdays, Sundays and when the University is closed.Due to communication expectations of the position, the incumbent will be required to maintain a cellular or other electronic communication device. The incumbent's salary includes compensation to apply toward the use of their personal cellular device. Minimum Qualifications:

High School/GED and Four years of prior successful work experience in the building trades or technical field at a building maintenance organization; OR two years post-secondary education in the building trades or technical field with two years of experience in heating and air conditioning repairs, maintenance and/or installation experience in a university, commercial or industrial building maintenance organization. Electrical controls troubleshooting with or without blueprints and schematics.

Have and maintain after hire a valid driver's license. Certified EPA Refrigeration Usage Card within a year of hire.

Controls, motors and electrical schematic reading. Refrigeration repairs. Knowledge of refrigerants and use of refrigerant regulations. Knowledge of the functionality of kitchen equipment and kitchen operations. Ability to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
