General Description / Primary Purpose:

The Basketball Operations Director under the direction of an Asst Athletic Coach or above or above, assists in the design, development and implementation of departmental processes and/or programs. Recommends policies and procedures to ensure effective coordination of departmental programs.


Job Function:

The Women's Basketball Operations Director will assist with all day-to-day functions of the Women's Basketball program. Primary job responsibilities include the planning and execution of team travel, managing team managers and student assistants, organizing and ordering team equipment, assisting with on-campus recruiting visits, helping to prepare scouting reports, and assisting with academic needs and requirements of the student-athletes, as needed. Will assist with video coordination and post-game scouting reports. Pursuant to NCAA rules, the position will also serve as an on-court coach during practices, individual workouts and games. Position must display strong organizational skills. During declared campus emergencies, this position may be required to perform specific job related duties at a designated off campus location or place of residence.

Required Qualifications:

This position requires either (a) Master's degree from an
acceptable accredited institution
in a directly related area of specialization; (b) Bachelor's degree from an
acceptable accredited institution
in a directly related area of specialization and two years of experience directly related to the job functions; or (c ) 6 years of direct experience.

Departmental Requirements:

Strong organizational skills are needed. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Adobe Photoshop preferred. Experience as a player or coach at the NCAA level is preferred.


It is an expectation of the Athletic Director that all coaches and staff will support, to a reasonable extent, the activities of other sports within the total program via attendance at scheduled events.

This position requires a background check. In conjunction with the University's policy, this position may also require a credit check.


The holder of this position is responsible for any NCAA and ASUN Conference bylaws and guidelines that a member of the UNF Athletic Compliance Department provides in addition to all UNF regulations. The individual must also assure that NCAA, Conference and UNF regulations are followed to the best of their knowledge and any violations thereof are reported to UNF Athletic Compliance.


This position has been designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA). This position has been designated as a CSA because it involves significant responsibility for student and campus activities and/or responsibility for campus security. As such, any person in this position must report to the University Police Department a crime or an incident that might be a crime that he/she becomes aware of. This position has a reporting requirement because the University believes that responsibility for students, campus activities and/or campus security will make the holder of this position someone members of the University community will see as an authority figure and someone to whom they can seek help. A CSA is not expected to investigate or determine whether a criminal incident actually took place. A CSA's responsibility is a duty to report. All positions designated as CSAs are required to complete an online or in-person training session. The holder of this position is designated as a "Responsible Employee" pursuant to their role under Title IX.
