Summary of Duties:


The Extension Coordinator Senior is responsible for critically reviewing print and web publications for legal conformance to pesticide labels and overseeing content/employee training for WSU's Pesticide Policy that governs pesticide handling, use, advice, consultation, and employee training requirements to ensure WSU compliance with state and federal laws. Create and maintain accurate, up-to-date electronic and hard copy data to meet record retention policies. Manage and track revenue, expenses, and budget forecasting. Manage writing and editing support for Internet-based pesticide pre-license and recertification training, including reviewing courses, and content produced by the Pesticide Resources and Education Program including course and presentation development. Serve as the program's credit card (PCI) compliance manager. Serve as the program's Analytical Laboratory Database manager. Manage WSU's Pesticide Collective Experimental Use Permit. Manage Analytical Laboratory Database Reports to the Pesticide Education Specialist.





Required Qualifications:




  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant extension program discipline and three (3) years of related program experience. A Masters degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.




  • This position requires the ability to travel and work a flexible schedule during the week including nights and weekends occasionally requiring overnight travel.




  • Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid WSDA pesticide license at time of hire




  • Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid unrestricted driver's license at time of hire.







Preferred Qualifications:




  • Master's degree in a relevant extension program discipline (e.g, weed science, environmental science, plant pathology, entomology).




  • Experience working with pesticide registration, compliance, certification, or education.




  • Experience in pesticide laws related to use recommendations and WSU employment.




  • Demonstrated organizational skills




  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets, cash handling, and university contracts.




  • Demonstrated computer skills, database management, and presentation software.




  • Demonstrated ability in creating, distributing, and analyzing user surveys.




  • Experience with credit card compliance and audits.




  • Spanish language skills.

Monthly Salary:


$4,061.90 - $6,092.84



In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
