Job Title:Research AssociateDepartment:CCC | Comprehensive Cancer Center

This is an opportunity to become involved in the one of the most cutting-edge areas of cancer therapy - Immuno-Oncology, to learn and use the newest technologies, develop the most marketable skillset in laboratory science, while working with an exceptional team of dedicated and talented scientists.


The Research Associate:



  • Participates in planning, design, execution, and management of research projects in a shared resource laboratory focused on immune profiling of IO clinical trial samples.

  • Participates in developing and implementing goals and objectives of studies.

  • Designs and executes complex laboratory experiments.

  • Performs advanced molecular and cellular assays (spectral flow cytometry, single-cell proteomics/genomics, highly multiplexed tissue imaging, spatial transcriptomics, etc.).

  • Collects, analyzes, and interprets research data.

  • Assists with development and implementation of new and/or revised research methodologies and techniques; tests experimental designs, sampling techniques, and analytical methods and makes recommendations for utilization.

  • Assists in establishment of controls, criteria, and research standards.

  • Performs critical analysis of literature relevant to research being undertaken; assists in the preparation of research papers and manuscripts for publication and presentation at national and conferences and workshops, and in the writing of project reports, articles, and other documents.

  • Coordinates laboratory activities and work assignments of postdoctoral researchers, graduate and undergraduate students, and laboratory research staff.

  • Oversees and coordinates periodic maintenance and testing of laboratory equipment; performs additional duties as assigned.



Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate biological/health science or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

  • 1 year of relevant experience is required.

  • Excellent people skills and the ability to work within a team required.

  • Ability to translate, adapt and apply academic and/or practical knowledge in the conduct of biological/health science research is required.

  • Requires successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.




Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master's Degree preferred.

  • 2+ years relevant experience, experience with flow cytometry is preferred.

  • Knowledge of immunology or cancer biology is preferred.

  • Experience with molecular biology and/or cellular biology is preferred.
