HIRING SALARY: $47,164.54 annually
HOURS: 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M., Monday - Friday; (hours may include nights and weekends)

FUNCTION: The Training Specialist II is a grant funded position housed within the Department of Juvenile Justice and will report to the Training and Research Manager. This position will prepare for and provide certification and in-service training for juvenile justice professionals. The position will be responsible for the following duties:
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of professional or technical experience in areas such as training, teaching, staff development, criminal justice, forensic laboratory or a combination of education and experience. One year of the required experience must be at the supervisory level. Professional or technical experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING: Knowledge of proper training procedures. Knowledge of quality assurance. Knowledge of correct grammar usage. Knowledge of office equipment. (e.g. Fax, copier, printers, scanners, etc.). Knowledge of the operation of a personal computer and related software (Word processing, spreadsheets, database applications). Knowledge of good customer service practices. Knowledge of and the ability to create lesson guides. Ability to coordinate/monitor training. Ability to prepare reports. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to create course schedules. Ability to work independently and with a team. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques. Ability to organize. Ability to handle confidential information. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to travel and attend training. Ability to make good judgment decisions. Ability to manage multiple projects.
