Shipping Team Member - Summer Hire at Carlisle Construction Materials in Carlisle, Pennsylvania

Job Description:

We are looking for individuals to join our Shipping team in Carlisle, PA for the duration of the Summer (May - August).


The primary function of this position is to safely, effectively, and productively execute their inbound, outbound, inventory, safety, 5S and housekeeping assignment. We will train dependable individuals with a desire to work as a part of a team in a successful and growing manufacturing company.


Compensation:


$18.00 per hour


Schedule:


1st shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM


Overtime may be required


Job Responsibilities:


* Ensure safe, clean, and organized work areas
* Inspect all material handling equipment prior to use and submit appropriately completed inspection card.
* Operate all machines, equipment, tools, and devices safely and per standard work instructions, rules and regulations
* Complete 5S assignment per expectation
* Scan materials using bar code reader prior to picking and/or loading
* Pick customer orders per standard work instructions
* Load customer orders per standard work instructions
* Unload inbound shipments
* Stock received items
* Pack or repack materials as required


* Willing and able to operate a forklift (we will train)
* Willingness to perform several jobs across different areas of the operation
* Able to read and communicate with other employees.
* Able to lift or move 50 lbs.
* Able to stand for 8 hours.
* Requires standing for extended periods, bending, reaching, pulling, and pushing.
* Able to pass 5-panel drug screen
* Able to pass pre-employment background screen that includes federal and county check.
