The Role

We are looking for a Social Strategist to join our team! This person will be a member of the McCann NY team, and will be sitting directly with the client in Boston, MA. You will be fully immersed within their business, and support a global brand that is a leader in its category, and is creating breakthrough, award-winning marketing.

The Social Strategist will assist in the development and management of cross-platform social media strategies. Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to: contributing to campaign strategy development, leading execution and project management, writing post copy and ideating post creative, liaising with multiple agency partners for paid, organic, and influencer media efforts, and working with traffic and compliance teams to ensure on-time delivery of assets.

What you will do
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop cross-platform social media strategies, including advising on content, platforms, timing, ad formats and targeting.
  • Act as day-to-day contact for and manager of assigned projects, campaigns and/or pitches. This will include liaising with internal groups and outside agencies.
  • Lead all project management efforts, from content planning and copywriting to compliance submission and execution.
  • Drive execution of campaigns and initiatives to provide maximum value to the firm's clients, prospects and interested parties, on time and in scope.
  • Coordinate creation of daily, weekly and/or monthly reports for campaigns and initiatives in alignment with scope requirements.
  • Review reporting and identify opportunities for optimizing, improving and/or building on campaigns.

Who you will be
  • Avid social media user with keen interest in social media marketing and trends; familiarity with building and managing campaigns on the following social media platforms: LinkedIn, Meta, YouTube.
  • Familiar with CRM platforms such as Sprinklr or Hootsuite.
  • Social media marketing and/or agency experience is required.
  • A strong copywriter, comfortable breaking down complex financial services content into engaging, jargon-free social media posts while remaining true to the brand.
  • 2+ years' experience working in a financial services marketing group; familiarity with and interest in investment management topics. Knowledge of financial advisory marketplace a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task and track a wide variety of activities and pay close attention to detail.
  • Exhibit superior written and oral communication skills.
  • Flexibility and responsiveness to deal with complex problems and strategic opportunities on the fly - must be able to think on your feet and nimbly go from 10,000 foot view to ground level and back.
  • Excellent project management skills and experience working with web/graphic designers and other creative professionals.
