The Patient Care Nursing Associate PCNA completes patient care activities as delegated by the RN. PCAs perform duties including, but not limited to, ADLs, vital signs, I and Os, 12 lead ECG, bladder scan, hygiene and venipuncture where applicable.
Familiarity with using wheelchairs, EKG equipment, patient assistive devices, and patient care equipment specific to assigned population.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills both written and verbal, as well as, exhibiting strong organizational skills and work ethic
Demonstrates a professional demeanor when responding to patients and customers
Basic computer data entry skills
Experience in a large teaching hospital preferred.
One year job stability preferred.

High School Equivalent / GED
BLS certification, issued by the American Heart Association, must be obtained during UH Orientation.
