About the Company Hiring: Our client is a manufacturing company.

About the Job: The primary purpose of this position is to oversee machining operations and guide staff to appropriate workflow, quality and on time completion. This position ensures all machining activities are conducted in a manner to achieve company quality and productivity goals, while maintaining safety as an overriding priority.
  • Managing the day-to-day functions of ~25 associates.
  • Create schedules and manage workload of the machining department.
  • Ensures department has appropriate staff to meet objectives.
  • Assists with preparation of budgets for department.
  • Keeps and maintains appropriate production and employee records.
  • Ensures that assigned staff adhere to policies and safety standards.
  • Coordinates with senior management to respond to employee suggestions.
  • Work with Leads to coordinate machining builds.
  • Assist in problem solving, making suggestions, and guiding staff accordingly.
  • Ensure the weekly product line status reports are accurate, present findings at weekly meeting.
  • Conduct annual reviews for each employee; monitoring performance on a daily basis; correct performance where necessary through disciplinary action, training, guiding etc.,
  • Ensure strong coordination with Sales and Engineering.
  • Promote/Role model a positive attitude and strong team engagement.
  • Makes judgement in the best interest of the company on the most efficient use of resources by balancing between cost and delivery.
  • Promotes a culture of continuous improvement across all manufacturing functions by encouraging employees to develop recommendations related to their primary functions and/or expertise.
  • Continuously assess performance of all assembly functions to ensure all functions have adequate resources, materials, and information to be as productive and efficient as possible.
  • Identifies shortcomings in staffing and advises supervisor in recruitment, employee performance improvement up to termination, training, and development to meet company performance needs.
  • Maintains knowledge of manufacturing technologies and processes current to advanced industry standards.
  • Advises management on purchase of new machinery, equipment, tooling, and software to ensure the company maintains maximum competitiveness in industry.

Minimum Requirements:
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience working in a mechanical focused environment.
  • Understands blueprints, job travelers, work instructions, program and tooling sheets, tooling specifications, quality documents and familiar with GD&T.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software.
  • Strong project communication, management, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement proactive process improvement functions.
  • Strong technical aptitude (machinery experience preferred).

Salary: $90,000 - $120,000

Job Status: Direct hire, full time Monday - Friday dayshift
