Title: Representative Payee Supervisor for a nonprofit organization serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families

Location: King County, WA

Full-time, onsite

HealthCare Recruiters is recruiting for a Representative Payee Supervisor position for a leading nonprofit organization committed to advocating for and supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

The Representative Payee Supervisor oversees the Representative Payee Program. The position will lead a team responsible for managing the financial affairs of individuals with IDD who require assistance handling their Social Security or other benefits.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Supervise and support a team of Representative Payee Specialists, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to program participants.
  2. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Representative Payee Program, including intake, assessment, budgeting, bill payment, and reporting functions, in compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  3. Conduct comprehensive assessments of program participants' financial needs, capabilities, and goals, developing individualized financial plans and goals in collaboration with them and their support networks.
  4. Manage participant funds accurately and responsibly, maintaining detailed records, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely payment of bills and expenses while safeguarding against fraud, abuse, or exploitation.
  5. Provide financial counseling, education, and advocacy to program participants and their families, empowering them to make informed decisions, build financial skills, and achieve greater economic independence.
  6. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, financial institutions, service providers, and advocacy organizations, to coordinate services, resolve issues, and advocate for the rights and interests of program participants.
  7. Monitor program outcomes and performance metrics and implement continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance service effectiveness, efficiency, and participant satisfaction.
  8. Stay informed about changes in relevant laws, regulations, and best practices related to representative payee services and financial management and ensure program compliance and adaptation as needed.

Qualifications:
  • degree in finance or accounting preferred or equivalent experience in accounting, budgeting, and computer literacy.
  • knowledge of the requirements and laws established by Social Security and DSHS for Representative Payees.
  • knowledge of accounting principles and practices, banking, and the reporting of financial data.
  • to compile, code, categorize, calculate, tabulate, audit, or verify information or data.
  • supporting individuals with I/DD
  • experience in providing guidance and direction to subordinates, including monitoring performance, etc.
