DSJ Global is currently working with a leading Wholesale Building Materials organization to help grow their rapidly expanding procurement team. The Sr Buyer is tasked with providing comprehensive tactical purchasing support across all facets of company operations including both direct and indirect categories.
This role is being offered as fully On-Site out of the Fort Pierce, FL area.
Sr Buyer Key Responsibilities:
Cultivate and maintain strong supplier relationships.
Develop and implement effective bidding, negotiation, and pricing strategies.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery agreements with suppliers.
Contribute to the enhancement of purchasing methods and procedures.
Champion innovation and continuous improvement within the Supply Chain function.
Monitor raw material inventory and participate in inventory management processes.
Stay informed about market trends and communicate relevant insights internally.
Conduct research and generate insightful reports.
Collaborate closely with various departments to ensure seamless coordination.
Evaluate and track vendor performance, driving quality and timeliness.
Vet and approve vendors while managing supplier scorecards for ongoing improvement.
Make recommendations to optimize procurement policies and procedures.
Sr Buyer Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance, business, contract management, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in Tactical purchasing
Preferably, 3 years of manufacturing experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of relevant commodities.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships across all organizational levels.
Strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making.
Detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities.
