Job Description:
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Packaging Design Support:
- Assist in developing packaging designs for products.
- Collaborate with the packaging engineer to ensure designs meet product specifications and regulatory requirements.
Material Selection and Testing:
- Aid in selecting appropriate packaging materials.
- Assist in conducting tests to evaluate the strength and durability of packaging materials.
Prototype Assistance:
- Support the creation of packaging prototypes.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to refine prototypes based on feedback.
Cost Analysis:
- Assist in analyzing packaging costs.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
Quality Assurance:
- Participate in quality control processes for packaging.
- Help implement measures to ensure packaging meets industry standards and customer expectations.
Supplier Coordination:
- Communicate with packaging material suppliers.
- Assist in negotiating contracts and maintaining positive supplier relationships.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay informed about packaging regulations and standards.
- Support efforts to ensure packaging complies with relevant regulations.
Process Improvement:
- Identify areas for process improvement within packaging procedures.
- Collaborate with the team to implement efficient and effective packaging processes.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of packaging specifications and designs.
- Generate reports on packaging performance and improvements.
Environmental Sustainability:
- Assist in developing environmentally sustainable packaging solutions.
- Stay updated on eco-friendly materials and contribute to the company's sustainability goals.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficient in using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Knowledge of packaging materials, testing methods, and industry standards.
- Familiarity with sustainability principles in packaging is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous internship or work experience in packaging engineering or a related field is advantageous.
