AHC is searching for a seasoned child development leader to join our dynamic team as a Resident Services Manager, Education. In this role, you will be crucial in delivering top-notch afterschool and teen tutoring programs, connecting residents with essential community resources, and organizing various engaging social, community-building activities, and health programs.
AHC is at the forefront of developing affordable, workforce, and mixed-income rental housing across Virginia, Washington DC, and Maryland, with a portfolio comprising over 8,000 apartment units in more than 50 communities. Our Resident Services team is committed to fostering thriving communities by offering educational and social services programs and creating enduring and trusting relationships with families and individuals.
As the Resident Services Manager for AHC's Woodbury property, serving 100-400 residents, you will be responsible for overseeing after-school programming for approximately 20-25 children in the After School Program and Summer Camp, 20 teens in the Teen Tutoring Program, 5-20 parents in parent workshops, 10-50 adults in adult workshops, and coordinating events for 50-100 residents. Flexibility is key, as the role requires availability for flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends.
Responsibilities:
Oversee afterschool and teen tutoring programs for 20-25 children and 20 teens, respectively
Coordinate parent workshops for 5-20 parents and adult workshops for 10-50 adults
Plan and execute community-building events for 50-100 residents
Implement high-quality programming with a focus on educational and social services
Connect residents with community resources and support services
Design and facilitate differentiated learning goals
Establish classroom management strategies based on trauma-informed practices
Build relationships with local schools, libraries, and non-profits
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in education (Master's degree preferred)
Experience in child development and program management
Cross-cultural competency and commitment to racial justice
Flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends
