We are seeking an organized and self-motivated Procurement Specialist who will be responsible for providing procurement support to our company.
Location: Cranbury, NJ
Responsibilities:
Lead Purchase Orders Execution:
Take ownership of executing purchase orders for goods or services required for business operations.
Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely order placement and fulfillment.
Verify order accuracy and completeness, including quantities, specifications, and pricing.
Purchase Request Tracker Maintenance:
Maintain a comprehensive tracker of purchase requests, recording details such as request date, item description, quantity, and requester information.
Update the tracker regularly to reflect the status of each purchase request
Cost-saving Opportunities Identification:
Analyze procurement data to identify opportunities for cost savings and process optimization.
Take initiative in negotiating favorable pricing, terms, and conditions with vendors to achieve cost reductions while maintaining quality standards.
Category Management and Spend Analysis:
Conduct category management activities to effectively manage spending across different procurement categories.
Perform spend analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for strategic sourcing and cost containment initiatives.
Order-related Problem Solving:
Act as the primary point of contact for resolving any issues or discrepancies related to orders, such as late deliveries, damaged goods, or invoice errors.
Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in procurement or supply chain management. Pharmaceutical, Nutrition or biotech industry is required.
Demonstrated proficiency in commercial awareness and negotiating skills, with a track record of achieving cost savings, flexibility, and adaptability to manage shifting priorities.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to conduct data analysis and derive actionable insights.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
