The Chattahoochee Nature Center has a managerial opportunity as Resource Development Specialist. Reporting to the Senior Director of Development, you will be responsible for annual contributed revenue, planning and developing all aspects of fund raising from individuals.

Founded in 1976, the Chattahoochee Nature Center (CNC) is a private, nonprofit environmental education/nature facility in Roswell, Georgia. CNC is located on 127 acres adjacent to the Chattahoochee River and consists of river marsh, freshwater ponds, and wooded uplands.

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes, experience, and personal characteristics:
• Bachelor's degree in non-profit management, education, sciences or related field or equivalent experience.
• Two plus years fund raising experience, including grant writing, applications, and ongoing reporting requirements.
• Experience developing strategies for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors, preferably with a relationship base in the Atlanta philanthropic community.
• Keen interest and passion for nature, conservation and wildlife and relationships/contacts within the community highly preferred.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with capital campaigns desirable.
• Ability to move seamlessly and build relationships across community, staff, stewarding board, donors, members, government/quasi-government entities and diverse partner organizations.

Position provides an attractive compensation package, including health insurance plan, 401k, paid time off, and a flexible work schedule. Some weekend and evening work, as required, to facilitate special events and Board meetings.

Resource Development Specialist

Reports to Senior Director of Resource Development

Position Summary:

The Resource Development Specialist reports to the Senior Director of Resource Development. The Development Team serves as the core unit in driving deepened engagement with constituents and increased revenue for CNC. The primary objective of the team is to build relationships with foundations, corporations, government agencies and individual donors that will result in increased investments for CNC programs. This role supports the goals of growing CNC's base of support by increasing awareness and knowledge among prospects, donors, members and key stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Manage account portfolio focused on raising resources including year-round engagement strategies (managing existing donor database and annual appeal process)
• Develop and manage stewardship plans in partnership with the Sr. Director of Resource Development for donors at various recognition levels
• Create a planned giving strategy and program with the support of the Senior Director of Resource Development and Cobb Community Foundation
• Lead the grant writing process by managing timelines, identifying new opportunities, submitting applications as well and ongoing reporting requirements
• Engage with CNC cross-functional teams including marketing, finance, events, and other departments
• Research and prepare summaries and reports that serve as background for executive meetings and conversations with current as well as potential major donors
• Assist the Senior Director of Resource Development with external events/speaking and CNC representation as needed
• Serve as point of contact for all special donor engagement programs
• Work extensively in Word / Excel / Adobe Acrobat DC / Outlook / Donor database (Humanitru) and Grant database (Instrumentl)

Qualifications & Expectations:
• Minimum two years of experience in donor development, fundraising, sales, or a related field
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and commitment to personal/professional development
• Results-oriented - dedicated to achieving measurable goals by creating, resourcing, scaling, and leveraging strategies and innovations
• Critical thinking and solution-minded with strong problem-solving ability to create philanthropic solutions for current supporters and new business prospects
• Excellent project management skills - attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines at once
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team
• Excellent written, presentation, persuasion and listening skills
• Sound judgment, discretion and commitment to maintaining donor confidentiality
• Ability to adapt quickly to change and innovation
• Commitment to excellence, accountability, transparency, and CNC's mission
• Experience with CRM/database management is helpful
• Use of personal vehicle required
