The Ready-Mix Truck Driver position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a truck used to deliver ready-mix concrete and other associated products to construction sites while maintaining a safety-first attitude. This position requires management resources to adhere to all company standards, policies, and procedures and comply with all federal and state regulations, including OSHA, MSHA, TCEQ, FMCSA, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Delivery of Ready-Mix Concrete:
Fills water tank, checks slump of load, and cleans excess material from truck.
Safely drives loaded truck to the destination on the delivery ticket and/or instructions from dispatch.
Ensures all delivery tickets are signed and returned to the plant.
Upon arrival, inspects job sites, works with customers to obtain adequate vehicle access, and unloads material.
Communicates truck status with dispatch by using two-way radio and encoders.
Rinse the chute and rear of the truck free of spilled concrete (re-hang extension chutes as necessary).
Returns to same yard or other yard as instructed by dispatch and receives new instructions.
Maintain good customer relations. Act in a professional, courteous manner.
Maintain a professional appearance.
Assists in training of co-workers as needed.
Vehicle Maintenance:
Performs pre-trip vehicle safety inspections and reports vehicle condition at each shift's beginning and end.
Checks all vehicle fluid levels daily and adds fluids as necessary.
Fuels vehicle as necessary.
Maintains vehicle cleanliness throughout the day.
Occasionally uses a chipping hammer to remove excess concrete buildup.
Performs minor repairs and assists mechanics in vehicle repairs.
Changes flat tires with spares and assists tire mechanics as needed.
Safety:
Comply with safety rules and wear personal protective equipment.
Report all unsafe conditions promptly.
Offer suggestions for accident prevention.
Serve on Safety Committees as requested.
Other:
Takes customer order changes in the field and reports them to dispatch.
Maintains Driver's Daily Logs.
Performs other duties as instructed
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. (Educational requirement can be waived instead of work experience.). Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License with a valid medical card. Meet minimum MVR requirements. Ability to provide high standards of customer service. Ability to clean all areas on the vehicle, climb a ladder to inspect loads, and hang extension chutes. Satisfactory work attendance record.
Computer Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office products and some ability to adapt to other computer software.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
Must be willing to work overtime, nights, and weekends when necessary.
Must be willing to register for DOT Clearing House
Work Schedule: 15-hour maximum on-duty time per day
Adheres to DOT regulations restricting no more than 70 hours in 7 days
