Job Description:

Title: Sr Estimator

Project Details: This consultant will work on developing, monitoring and updating estimates for renewables projects, primarily solar.



Must Have Skills:

Ideally 7-10 years of Estimating experience on large capital projects

4 + years large construction projects preferably in renewables experience, solar strongly preferred. If they do not have the renewables then civil/electrical construction experience.

Experience in all aspects of estimating. Design- construction

Experience developing, different types of estimates, tracking project costs, finalizing estimated completions, and ensuring budgets are up to date until project completion

Experience managing change requests

Strong excel skills

Ability to conduct VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and Match Values

Experience with estimating software. On Screen Takeoff is one that DTE uses.

Experience maintaining dashboards. PowerBI preferred

Bachelors Degree( preferably engineering)

Day to day responsibilities:

• Work with Project Manager to monitor and update the cost forecast sheet for upcoming spends.
• Review scope of work and documents for accuracy with PM and engage in conversations with contractors to ensure pricing is competitive.
• Supports the project teams and estimating/scheduling personnel efforts towards the development of the project plan and translating that project plan into the project cost loaded schedules.
• Perform risk analysis and benchmarking for the project with the contractors.
• Conduct analysis of Estimate at completion (EAC) to initial project estimates and capture lessons learned.
• Provides direct support and expertise to project personnel and estimators regarding estimating and/or planning.
• Assists with the preparation of project time and/or cost claims.

Education/Certification Requirements: Bachelors Degree.
*If they have high school diploma,GED then need 11+ years experience.*

Additional Details:

Local candidates are preferred and priority. If not local, EST/CST timezone. Potential travel as needed for project kickoffs( 1 trip per month.)
