Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree or a combination of relevant experience and education that is likely to yield the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.

  • Skilled in the Microsoft Suite - including but not limited to Outlook, SharePoint, Teams.

  • Experience planning, developing, and promoting innovative outreach programs and services.

  • Academic Library experience.


Job Description:

The Open Education Team at university Libraries is looking for applicants that are inquisitive team players focused on content creation, creative problem solving, and iterative solutions. Reporting to the Open Educational Resource (OER) Librarian, this position will co-create OER assessments & OER metrics for Texas State University; collaborate with other university libraries staff, cultivate partnerships with colleagues across campus to increase OER awareness integrate OER adoption frameworks, and shape Open Education at Texas State University. This position is ideal for those pursuing or interested in pursuing an MLS, MSIS, or equivalent degree.


Job Duties:



  • Support discovery and adoption of Open Educational Resources.

  • Develop and maintain a sustainable workflow for capturing OER metrics.

  • Stay abreast of current trends and practices related to OER in institute of higher education and research libraries.

  • Participate in event planning, promotions, and outreach efforts related to OER.

  • Prepare reports and presentations.

  • Record statistical information.

  • Develop and maintain accurate documentation.

  • Maintain active knowledge of the relevant tools, trends, and technologies.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
