Duties: Individual will have primary responsibility for developing and studying patient derived xenotranplantation models of both pancreatic cancer and myeloid malignancies. Both sets of models will be established without and with co-engraftment of human immune cells. Individual will use models to study tumor biology and interactions with immune system. Individual will interact with large translational research groups. Individual will assist with tissue banking studies and genomic analysis of primary tumor tissue. Individual must be able to function independently and supervise animal technicians and other laboratory personnel. Some grant or manuscript writing will be required.
Qualifications: Highly advanced professional discipline., PhD or equivalent doctoral degree and 5-7 years of post-doctoral experience required. Training in Immunology strongly preferred. Experience with patient derived xenotransplantation studies strongly preferred. Must have documented ability to design and implement research studies. Understanding of human tumor biology preferred. Must have outstanding interpersonal skills, ability to work with a diverse group of individuals in clinical and pre-clinical study environments. Experience with writing (manuscripts and grants) strongly preferred.
