Position Summary: Functions as the member of the surgical team who assists the surgeon, anesthesiologist/anesthetist and RN in delivering direct patient care during the entire preoperative experience. Acts as the primary scrub person during the operative procedure.

Leadership • Assists in providing meaningful orientation and ongoing experience to new staff, students and other team members. • Demonstrates beginning leadership skills related to patient care. • Demonstrates accountability for own professional practice, including progress toward achievement of annual goals.
PATIENT POPULATION THIS POSITION SERVICES: Infant, child, young adult, adult and geriatric patients.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduate of a program of surgical technology of at least one year duration.
Certifications: Certification by the Association of Operating Room Technicians required.
CPR required
Special Skills: Able to function in emergency situations
