This position will mostly consist of Quality Control conformance checking, part receiving, work order staging, and organizational tasks. However, the ideal candidate should be open to learning and performing a variety of different production machining processes when called upon. This position will be a good fit for an ambitious individual interested in variety in their daily tasks. Someone who wants to learn and develop experience in multiple facets within a manufacturing environment.
Essential duties and responsibilities: • Verify conformance, organize, and manage workflow according to order dates and routing details. • Inspection of both in-house and outside vendor parts. • Purchase order receiving. • Work order staging. (This includes staging parts for in-house operations and wrapping skids/packaging parts to go out for outside processes.) • Delivery of finished goods to shipping and receiving department. • Perform a variety of machining and metal working processes such as but not limited to keyway slotting, deburring, and metal finishing/polishing.
Qualifications • Able to read and interpret blueprints to determine dimensions and tolerances of both machined and fabricated parts. • Ability to use measuring devices such as Calipers, Micrometers, Dial Bore gages, Indicators, Depth gauges, and Height gages. • Forklift experience. • Will be expected to check conformance on items with tolerance call outs up to the 4th (.0000) decimal place. • Keen attention to detail. • Possess basic computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and ERP systems. • Applicant should have good organizational skills and a means to work independently. • Good understanding of surface finishes. • Knowledge of geometric tolerancing a plus. • Strong math skills. • Comfortable standing and walking for long periods of time.
