VP US Benefits | FinTech

New York (hybrid)

Salary $165,000 - $210,000 + Bonus

Oakleaf are supporting a rapidly scaling global fintech firm source a talented VP Benefits. Joining a highly collaborative HR team, the VP Benefits will spearhead their 401k plan and vendor management as well as leveraging expertise in health and welfare benefits to craft impactful plan designs. You will be a passionate benefits expert who will support the team and organization in shaping the future of employee benefits administration with finesse and innovation!

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain expertise in 401(k) program compliance, handling paperwork and notices including SPDs, annual notices, and IRS Determination Letters. Coordinate compliance efforts with the team.
  • Serve as primary contact for 401(k) record-keeping, addressing technical, product, and compliance inquiries.
  • Collaborate with Fiduciary Advisors to manage Quarterly Investment Committee activities.
  • Manage annual Contribution True-Up and Safe Harbor Contribution, along with monthly Finance requests.
  • Ensure compliance with ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, and COBRA, liaising with auditors, legal, and finance teams.
  • Provide support for other benefit plans and assist with plan redesign and implementation.
  • Aid in Merger & Acquisition due diligence.
  • Foster relationships with external partners, negotiate contracts, and monitor service performance.
  • Work with benefit vendors and consultants to deliver services smoothly.
  • Assist in annual open enrollment and generate HR reports on US health and welfare benefits.

Skills and Knowledge:
  • College degree with 8-12 years of benefits experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for interaction across all organizational levels.
  • Strong relationship management abilities.
  • Capacity to translate and represent business needs effectively.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Quick learning and problem-solving skills, particularly in ambiguous situations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in program/project management.
  • High-level analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in problem identification, research, and resolution.
