4+ years of administrative assistant experience and highly proficient with scheduling, appointment support, hiring processes, event coordination, and other administrative tasks
Experience using MS Office Suite to complete various administrative tasks (Outlook, Excel, etc.)
Flexible, detail-oriented, and patient team player
Bachelor's degree (or Associate's with 4+ years, or High School with 6+ years)

A large university client is looking for a Sr. Administrative Assistant for the Chemistry Department to sit 5 days a week onsite in New Haven, CT. This administrative assistant will join another administrative assistant as a team of 2 and they will focus on Faculty & Academic Affairs. On a day-to-day basis, this administrative assistant will provide logistical and clerical support to department chairs, faculty, and post-doctoral researchers, help to organize department specific events like guest lecturers and conferences, process financial paperwork, and distribute schedules, documents, and reports around the department. Ultimately, they will be serving as the principal contact for information on the department, degrees, activities, deadlines, policies, and procedures. This is a contract-to-hire position that converts into a union-protected full-time position.
