Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Tax Manager to join our team. The Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our tax compliance, planning, and reporting functions. This role requires strong technical expertise in tax laws and regulations, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to effectively manage a team.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of tax compliance, including the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns.
  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax benefits for the organization.
  • Conduct research on tax issues and provide guidance to senior management on tax-related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations, including changes in tax legislation.
  • Review and approve tax provisions, estimates, and disclosures for financial reporting purposes.
  • Supervise and mentor tax staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate the completion of tax audits and examinations.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as finance and legal, to address tax-related issues and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in tax management.

Desired Skillset:
  • Demonstrated experience working with partnerships, corporations, and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Minimum of 8 years of consistent Tax experience in public accounting.
  • Comprehensive understanding of pertinent tax legislation covering corporate, personal, and partnership tax compliance and planning.
  • Proficient in accounting principles, with advanced analytical and research capabilities.
  • Holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a Master's degree in Taxation.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in tax software applications such as ProSystems fx Tax, Engagement, QuickBooks, Excel, and/or RIA Checkpoint.
  • CPA license preferred.
  • Experience in client planning.
  • Familiarity with international tax regulations and trusts and estates is advantageous.
