As we continue our expansion through acquisitions, we are seeking a highly skilled Controller to join our finance team. Position Overview: The Controller will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of multiple business units. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller will play a critical role in financial planning, analysis, and reporting, as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in manufacturing finance, strong leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, acquisition-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning and Analysis:
Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making.
Analyze financial performance across business units and provide insights to senior management.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend actions to improve financial performance.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Lead the annual budgeting process for each business unit, working closely with department heads to develop accurate and achievable budgets.
Prepare monthly forecasts and variance analyses to track actual performance against budget and identify areas for improvement.
Financial Reporting:
Oversee the preparation and distribution of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results to senior management, investors, and other stakeholders.
Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process.
Cash Flow Management:
Manage cash flow projections and liquidity needs across multiple business units.
Implement strategies to optimize cash flow, minimize working capital requirements, and maximize return on investment.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
Identify financial risks and implement controls to mitigate them.
Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements affecting the manufacturing industry.
Integration of Acquired Entities:
Lead the financial integration of acquired businesses, including accounting system conversion, process harmonization, and financial reporting alignment.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth transition and realization of synergies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA or CMA certification preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the manufacturing industry.
Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of GAAP.
Experience with financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to communicate complex financial information effectively to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Proven track record of driving process improvements and implementing best practices.
Experience with ERP systems; knowledge of SAP is a plus.
Prior experience with mergers and acquisitions is highly desirable.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
