complete and all requirements are met. Assists in selecting cost effective and safe project designs. Serves as a primary customer contact for assigned communities regarding new or changes to existing fiber documentation systems.
Responsibilities: • Handles non-routine to moderately complex data entry and data entry automation projects in the Fiber Manager GIS system • Plans fiber route input sequences for construction plans and as-builts including as-builts, preparing necessary maps and sketches, ensures accuracy of slack calculations, and enters correct splicing assignments. • Performs a variety of analysis including, but not limited to, completion of dark lease applications while adhering to regulatory requirements. • Tracks and reports work related functions necessary to support the business processes including creating work requests, GIS/Mapping System, and various other systems. • Provides technical support for automation of data input tasks from construction plans and red lines. • Works with hourly and salaried supervisors in scheduling work. • Assists network engineering in development of project scopes and schedules by selecting and specifying sites. • Interacts with operations managers to assist with map utilization field training. • Keeps current in knowledge and understanding of company procedures, rates, rules, practices, standards, and application of construction materials. Supervision • Performs work under the general supervision of a Team Lead.
Experience: • 2 years of related experience Other Requirements. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Good knowledge of math, physics and fiber construction practices. • Working knowledge of Fiber Manager or ArcGIS. • Demonstrated survey and data input and design skills within a GIS system. • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. • Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs (e.g., e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management) preferred. • Ability to understand scripting or other automation capabilities available in ArcGIS and/or Fiber manager.
