Our client is a large, diverse and global manufacturer of chemical products to many industries worldwide. We are engaged with them to find an experienced Director of Product Management with deep experiencing managing Product Managers in an international business.
We are looking for someone with proven product management leadership experience in the chemicals or closely related industries (polymers for example).

This is a nationwide search and is being advertised in a number of major cities and may not be in the city in this advertisement.
This is NOT a remote position. You will likely need to relocate for this role.

Director of Product Management Responsibilities:

Set the vision for the product management department to ensure excellence.
Interface closely with Sales and Product development and determine what product lines to focus on and what products should be developed.
In conjunction with your team, analyze pricing and profitability, evaluate product lifecycles, evaluate combining similar products to minimize SKU's, analyze product performance; all to optimize the product portfolios.
Create a product strategy that is cohesive across divisions and locations.
Create a culture of marketing excellence within the organization.
Coach and mentor your reports to excel and grow in their career.
Director of Product Management Requirements:
4 year technical degree.
10 years of experience in the chemical market or closely related markets such as polymers/resins.
Similar experience with a large international company strongly preferred.
10+ years of product management and leadership in product management.
Experience analyzing the market and competitive forces/pricing.
Proven experience in the areas of pricing, product portfolio management, optimizing SKU's, and profitability, interfacing with sales and product development.
Humble personality, with a drive to mentor your team.
