What You Can Expect in This Role (Job Responsibilities):
Operations:
Lead workplace improvements, method enhancements, and layout optimizations.
Collaborate closely with leadership and associates to assess project feasibility and provide data-driven insights for informed decision-making.
Provide support to leadership and engineering teams on manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and resource requirements.
Technical Support:
Conduct time studies and data analysis for rate determinations, line balancing, and cost estimation.
Develop and implement standard work instructions to streamline processes.
Analyze reports and collected data to recommend changes in methods, tooling, or equipment to enhance productivity, quality, and value.
Plan and design workspace layouts for efficiency, safety, and ergonomic improvements.
Projects & Continuous Improvement:
Lead and coordinate various projects from inception through completion with minimal supervision.
Develop capital appropriation requests (E201) with supporting EVA calculations and provide project management leadership.
Collaborate with vendors to define product specifications, arrange equipment/material purchases, and evaluate product quality.
Drive Lean culture and implementation across the plant, actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
What We Are Looking For (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education):Required Experience:
2-5 years in a manufacturing engineering role.
Experience in designing and implementing machine/assembly cells and factory layouts.
Project management experience with the ability to manage multiple projects of varying scope and complexity.
Cross-functional team collaboration experience.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills (e.g., 8D, 5Y, statistics).
Knowledge of One-piece flow, Visual factory, KPIs, and pacing boards.
Proficiency in manufacturing financial metrics and Lean Six Sigma principles.
Experience in Assembly and/or Sheet Metal Fabrication manufacturing environments.
Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications.
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (strongly preferred).
Travel & Working Environment:
Minimal travel (<10%) required for facility visits, vendor meetings, and training.
Working environment may involve standing, walking, occasional lifting, and the use of personal protective equipment in manufacturing areas.
