Position Overview

The General Supervisor role at BostonGene is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation and quality control of our clinical laboratory. This position requires onsite presence during operational hours (Sunday through Thursday OR Tuesday through Saturday) to provide direct supervision and technical support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain high standards of analytical performance on a daily basis.
  • Review daily Quality Control (QC) data and implement corrective actions for any outlier results.
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of test results to healthcare providers.
  • Conduct daily surveillance of the QC program; formal monthly reviews will be overseen by the Technical Supervisor.
  • Promptly report operational issues to the Technical Supervisor and collaborate on technical decisions.
  • Perform testing as needed, particularly for complex tests requiring specialized skills.
  • Conduct new hire orientations and oversee annual skill and performance reviews for testing personnel.
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager, Technical Supervisor, or Laboratory Director.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 6 years of clinical laboratory experience.
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree or equivalent in a relevant field.

Preferred Skills:
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in laboratory operations and quality control protocols.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Experience in personnel management and performance evaluations.

Additional Information:
  • This role requires flexibility in working hours, including one weekend day per week.
  • Candidates with relevant certifications (e.g., ASCP) are preferred.
  • This role includes hands-on bench work in the clinical laboratory, particularly during testing procedures.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time and perform repetitive tasks inherent to laboratory work.
