Estimator/Project Manager

Job Summary:

The Estimator/Project Manager position will have a primary responsibility to prepare estimates for ASME pressure vessels. The ability to read datasheets, drawings, and customer specifications to organize information and generate proposals. The secondary role will involve serving as a Project Manager for vessel projects.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Review client datasheets, drawings, and specifications to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized proposals.

  • Analyze required items and cost variables to formulate estimates essential for shop scheduling, procurement planning, vendor negotiations, and bid preparation for vessels.

  • Communicate with clients, subcontractors, vendors, appropriate members of the company team to discuss and formulate quotes and resolve issues.

  • Assist with the facilitation of change orders with project management to produce detailed pricing in a timely manner.

  • Support Project Managers by assisting with bid follow-ups and coordinating tasks related to vessels awarded by the client as needed.

  • Evaluate pricing from subcontractors and vendors to identify the most competitive pricing and delivery options.

  • Establish and maintain working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and team members.

  • Conduct internal kick off meetings to transfer bid information and provide clarifications pertaining to the bid from estimating to the project team upon PO award.

  • Assist project managers with communications and details of the bid during customer kick-off meetings.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Three (3) years minimal experience in estimating or project management for an ASME vessel facility.

  • Experience in steel & vessel fabrication techniques.

  • Familiarity with various types of alloys materials.

  • Familiarity with purchasing plate, pipe, fittings, and flanges.

  • Familiarity with ASME pressure vessels including columns and tray towers.

  • Knowledge of midstream gas plant and downstream process equipment preferred.

  • The ability to read and interpret drawings, datasheets, specifications, and other documentation provided by customers.

  • Capable of writing an accurate and formal proposal containing technical information.

  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple bid proposals vary in different stages of the process.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite.

  • Experience with Compress software or equivalent for ASME vessel calcs is required.

  • Knowledge of ASME Section VIII Div 1 and 2 Pressure Vessel Code.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Team oriented.

Salary
  • Salary will be commensurate with experience.
