Position Summary:

The Operations Analyst will have a broad range of responsibilities in an established organization poised for rapid expansion. This is an excellent opportunity to take an important role in a growing company. The ideal candidate needs to be entrepreneurial, have a bias for action, and a passion for delivering results.

The successful candidate must be a highly motivated individual who is interested in getting involved in multiple areas. This role is directly responsible for product costing and analysis, inventory reporting and analysis, maintenance of fixed asset records, account reconciliations for inventory accounts, analyzing manufacturing variances and determining root cause. Oversees the plant's inventory cycle count process, assuring that inventory variances are reported on a timely basis.

Essential Functions:

1) Costing
• Responsible in the review and development of standard cost for all manufactured items.
• Review and analyze bill of materials (BOM) for all items on an ongoing basis and provide recommendation for standard cost updates.
• Conduct ongoing pricing, cost and gross margin analysis for all products and customers to correct sub-standard margins.
• Continuous review of allocation of indirect overhead to the standards.
• Provide detailed analysis on manufacturing variances to standard, including those related to purchase price, production, cycle count, scrap, inventory revaluations and absorption.
• Lead efforts associated with monthly cycle count and periodic physical inventories.
• Assist in process and system upgrades and enhancements.
• Actively work with Production on process improvement, idea brainstorming, and solution implementation.
• Conduct ad-hoc analysis as needed.

2) Fixed Assets
• Maintains fixed asset records (including property tax) for multiple locations.
• Direct responsibility for managing and improving all aspects of the Fixed Assets tracking system.
• Manage additions, disposals, and impairments to ensure appropriateness with US GAAP and internal capitalization policies.
• Review invoices to ensure the asset is appropriately being capitalized.

3) Reporting & Budgeting
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end closing tasks are performed, which may include journal entries, accruals, expense fluctuation analysis, and reconciliations.
• Assist with the development of a more robust internal financial reporting.
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly basis.
• Responsible for cost allocations and analysis.
• Proactively make recommendations and execute improvements within our processes.
• Assist with the annual budget and quarterly forecast preparation.

Education and Work Experience:

1) Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required

2) A minimum of 5 years accounting experience in a manufacturing setting required

3) Experience working in a fully-integrated MRP/ERP/GL system

4) SAP experience highly desirable

5) Ability and willingness to dig into details

6) Strong Excel skills required including pivot tables, vlookups, formulas

7) Demonstrated ability to succeed in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial business

8) Professional and clear communication skills

9) Willingness and flexibility to vary hours and efforts according to deadlines.

10) Very well-organized with a strong attention to detail
