Our Client, a leader in Building Automation Controls Systems is seeking a Project Designer. The purpose of this position is to provide clear, accurate, and concise design documentation for installation and use of Building Automation Control Systems, based on project specifications, mechanical drawings, and/or sales documentation. This client is experiencing rapid growth and provides a strong foundation for learning and advancement in this industry. This role pays in the $25-$29 per hour range ($52K-$60K annually), pays for OT, includes a 12% annual bonus, a strong benefit program and no travel. Company headquarters are located in Brookfield, WI, and onsite training is required. This role will then move into a hybrid schedule once training concludes. We are seeking candidates at all levels of experience.
The key to this role is experience working and designing low voltage building control systems, primarily focused on HVAC Controls, and the ability to design these systems using Visio and AutoCAD-LT. The incumbent of this role will:
Create design drawings including riser diagrams, flow diagrams, material lists, sequence of operations, panel layouts, wiring termination details and equipment schedules.
Create project specific documents including parts order list, packing lists for future shipments, submittals, and operation and maintenance manuals.
Communicate directly with equipment vendors to verify control capabilities or requirements of their products.
Gain continuous education of new products and innovations in the building automation field.
Perform sizing calculations for control valves and dampers.
Complete control panel check-out by verifying proper wiring terminations prior to delivery.
Research projects, issues and solve problems in an independent fashion.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Design/Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.
3+ years experience with HVAC/R design, HVAC/R controls, or related field.
2+ years experience reading and understanding HVAC/R and process mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics and specifications
Well versed with HVAC application engineering, design, sequences of operation for electrical circuits and schematics.
2+ years working with computer drafting software, preferably Visio and/or AutoCAD-LT (2D drawings).
Knowledge of computer hardware and software including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Applications, Google Drive, Email, and various other applications.
