About the role:
The primary role of this position is to provide component engineering support for electrical components, mechanical, electromechanical, and optical components. Component Engineer works closely with Strategic Sourcing, NPD Engineering, and Production Engineering; in the development of component design, component specifications, component selection, component qualification, and component failure analysis.
This position is part of the Procurement Team located in Loveland, CO and will be on-site.
In this role, you will:
From a global perspective, you will understand component engineering and procurement industry trends and issues on a real-time basis, in order to develop and implement effective procurement and component strategies.
Possess technical knowledge of electrical components and electromechanical components.
Support the Commodity Manager, Electronics in his/her role of managing the commodity, identifying material cost productivity projects and resourcing projects.
Lead and/or participate in the component and supplier selection process for suppliers of the electronics commodity.
Lead and/or perform component qualifications internally and at component suppliers.
Conduct component failure analysis internally, at external laboratories, or at component suppliers.
Participate in technical audits at supplier sites, including assessments of their core technical competencies and process controls.
Are you qualified?
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related
6+ years' experience in component engineering or related engineering in a manufacturing environment.
Full understanding of electronics components and manufacturing.
Proven history of resolving a wide range of issues in creative ways.
Knowledge of component design using CAD software.
Familiar with ERP -Oracle or SAP preferred
The salary range for this role is $93,600.00-$103,000.00This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus pay.
