As the Director of Workers' Compensation, you will oversee all aspects of the Workers' Compensation Department. This role is responsible for developing and implementing policies, procedures, and strategies to ensure compliance with state regulations, mitigate risks, and support injured employees. The Director collaborates with internal stakeholders, insurance carriers, legal counsel, and external agencies to manage claims efficiently, promote workplace safety initiatives, and reduce costs associated with workers' compensation. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and interpersonal skills to effectively navigate the complexities of workers' compensation management and support the organization's overall mission and objectives.
The Director of Workers' Compensation is a Support Team role based out of our Corporate Office in Norcross, GA in the metro Atlanta area. Our Corporate Office Support Team consists of 300+ Associates who are committed to supporting our Operations Team as they proudly serve and create memorable experiences for our Customers. What you'll do:
Develop and implement workers' compensation policies, procedures, and guidelines in alignment with state regulations and organizational objectives.
Manage and oversee the workers' compensation claims process from initiation to resolution, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
Collaborate with insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and legal counsel to investigate and evaluate claims, negotiate settlements, and represent the organization in hearings and appeals.
Monitor and analyze workers' compensation trends, costs, and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to reduce claim frequency and severity.
Provide guidance and support to employees, supervisors, and managers on workers' compensation-related matters, including injury reporting, return-to-work programs, and disability accommodations.
Develop and deliver training programs and educational materials to promote awareness of workers' compensation policies, safety protocols, and injury prevention strategies.
Conduct regular audits and assessments of workplace hazards, ergonomic factors, and safety protocols to identify and address potential risks and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
Stay current with changes in workers' compensation laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and adapt policies and procedures accordingly.
Prepare and present reports, recommendations, and updates on workers' compensation activities and performance to senior management and executive leadership.

Experience/Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Risk Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in workers' compensation management required.
Professional certification (e.g., Certified Workers' Compensation Professional - CWCP) preferred.
