The Role
We are currently seeking a Cloud & Infrastructure Consultant to become a member of Neudesic's Cloud Infrastructure Team in Houston. The ideal candidate has expert level knowledge and experience in designing, migrating, and implementing complex infrastructure solutions. The position is customer facing and will work closely with Product Owners, Applications Owners, Network and Security team to deliver the best solution for large scale infrastructure design and application modernizations. Candidates should possess expert knowledge in public and hybrid cloud models. The Solution Architect needs to have the ability to provide insight into the workloads and their dependencies to map out the best strategy to migrate workloads to Azure. This will include determining the ideal groups of infrastructure components and applications and defining a roadmap to move to the cloud. While very much a hands-on role, this role also requires strong communication and presentation skills and a thorough understanding of cloud infrastructure best practices to be able to articulate cloud solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities
Deploy highly available, scalable and secure cloud infrastructure with a focus on Azure using industry best practices
Define and implement infrastructure migration methodologies and techniques to migrate workloads into Azure
Design and develop automation to support continuous delivery and continuous integration process
Work closely with the Development and Operations teams to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated deployment of infrastructure
Lead Cloud enablement team
Key Technology Requirements (Ideal candidates will posses the following skillset, open to some or all of the following):
Expert Cloud & Infrastructure experience on Public Cloud with particularly strong Azure experience
Experienced in cloud governance, cloud monitoring, Infrastructure as Code, RBAC, policies, virtual network and subscription management
Experience with Azure landing zones
Strong understanding in Cloud Adoption Frameworks(CAF) and Well Architected Frameworks(WAF)
Identity Management- users/groups/service accounts and their differences
Networking and virtual network concepts of public vs. private IPs
Understanding of integration of Security, ACLs, firewalls in cloud and on-prem
Infrastructure as Code scripting capability (Strong working knowledge); Terraform, ARM, Bicep
Integration support of logging and monitoring for cloud deployments
Good understanding of M365/MS Teams
Container experience (Nice to have)
Intune, App Proxy Server, WVD (Nice to have)
Additional Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
Be a trusted technical advisor to customers and solve complex Cloud Infrastructure and Networking challenges
Create and deliver best practices recommendations, tutorials, blog articles, sample code, and technical presentations adapting to different levels of key business and technical stakeholders
