Position Title: Senior Nonprofit and Social Impact Consultant

Type: Full-time employee

Location: Hybrid with travel - Washington, DC

This position is based in Chevy Chase, MD and will require the candidate to be local to the Washington, DC area. This role is a hybrid position, but requires both a consistent presence in Headquarters (2 days per week), and an ability to be in the office additionally as needed.

Work Environment and Travel: Professional office work environment with travel for clients. No heavy lifting required. Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required.

Job Description:

Lassiter & Associates is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Nonprofit and Social Impact Consultant. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in guiding our clients towards sustainable growth, effective governance, and impactful social outcomes. This role will support Lassiter & Associates' non-profit and foundation clients. As a senior consultant, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of organizations, helping them navigate complex challenges and maximize their potential for success.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Analysis
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of direct service non-profits and grant-making foundations
  • Develop strategic plans that align with client missions, goals, and desired social impact outcomes.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor landscapes, and industry best practices to inform strategic decision-making.

Leadership
  • Manage project teams to foster collaboration and accountability to maximize outcomes for our clients.
  • Lead small, large and complex organizations through growth and change.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging best practices, and innovative approaches
  • Produce written articles of print or online publications on relevant topics to advance the firm's influence.

Business Development
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to expand Lassiter & Associates' client base, including proactively networking and seeking referrals.
  • Nurture existing client relationships and identify opportunities for additional engagement and partnership.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement strategies for revenue growth and profitability.

Client Engagement and Management
  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients, serving as a trusted advisor and strategic partner.
  • Lead client meetings, workshops, and focus groups to gather insights and facilitate collaboration.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to clients throughout project lifecycles, ensuring alignment with objectives.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Champion
  • Integrate DEI principles into all aspects of consulting engagements, promoting equity and inclusion within client organizations.
  • Offer tailored solutions and recommendations to address diversity gaps and foster inclusive environments.
  • Facilitate DEI training sessions and workshops to promote awareness and understanding among stakeholders.

Fundraising Training
  • Design and implement strategies and training for non-profit philanthropy, development, and fundraising.
  • Provide executive advisory to leadership and staff

Organizational Development and Capacity Building
  • Provide expertise in organizational development, governance structures, and operational effectiveness.
  • Support board development activities, including recruitment, training, and succession planning.
  • Offer executive advisory and leadership development programs to enhance organizational capacity.

Training Delivery and Facilitation
  • Design and deliver engaging training sessions and workshops on topics such as leadership development, team dynamics, and strategic planning.
  • Facilitate group discussions, brainstorming sessions, and problem-solving workshops to drive collaboration and innovation.
  • Customize training materials and curriculum to meet the specific needs and objectives of client organizations.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred or relevant work experience.
  • Demonstration of strong written and oral communications.
  • Proven experience in consulting, project management, or nonprofit management strategy.
  • Demonstrated experience with facilitation, training delivery and design concepts.
  • Strong understanding of nonprofit foundations and organizational dynamics.
  • Demonstrated expertise in areas such as research, analysis, and strategic planning.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of work.
  • Knowledge of non-profit fundraising is a plus, but not required
  • Willingness to travel 2-3 times per month to deliver programs, participate in conferences, and attend client meetings. There are also occasional events during nonstandard business hours.

Salary Range: $105,000 - $125,000
