The Role:
Our site in Burnet, TX is seeking a highly motivated PMO Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment where safety, quality and continuous improvement are paramount. You will be a key player on a dynamic R&D team based in Burnet and Round Rock, TX. You will lead project management staff responsible for multiple projects driving profitable growth in the company's Materials Solutions group. Projects will vary depending on size and scope, requiring flexibility and tailored project management solutions. This role will include direct interaction with a broad range of global senior, technical and functional leadership and subject matter experts throughout the organization. The PMO team projects support development, deployment and support of various precursor production and commercial delivery systems. In addition, you may be called on to lead the Project Management support for design transfer of these projects to manufacturing sites in Japan or Korea.
What You'll Do:
Be an "Agent of Change" - you must be comfortable working with all levels across the organization and must be able to question the status quo and be a strong communicator
Manage the R&D (NPD) funnel from opportunities through concept & feasibility
Oversee management of capital projects to expand manufacturing capacity, transition products to high volume manufacturing, or implement continuous improvements to existing products/processes
Refine project management techniques to develop project charters, budgets, risk assessments, resource plans, Gantt charts and periodic status reports
Lead best practices in the use of project management tools such as MS Project, Power BI and AgilePoint to develop and manage projects
Own periodic progress reports for all R&D projects to key stakeholders
Collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas such as R&D, Engineering, Finance, Manufacturing, Legal and Supply Chain to accomplish business objectives
What We Seek:
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science or similar technical field or related experience is required. A Master's degree in a technical field and/or an MBA is a plus
3-5 years of PMO Management OR 10+ years of Project Management experience handling multiple projects with a strong understanding of project management principles and software tools; PMP certification is a plus;
Good financial skills include experience with return-on-investment models and developing cost of ownership models
Experience with factory scale up projects
Experience with commercial product development
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can meet goals with minimal supervision
The ideal candidate is a high energy individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment
Highly analytical in decision-making processes yet comfortable dealing with a high degree of ambiguity
Experience working in cross-cultural environment; prior experience with a multi-national company is desirable
Accessible by laptop computer and cell phone for occasional use during off hours.
Outstanding Candidates Will Have:
5+ years of demonstrated PMO management experience within a global, multicultural, multi-location organization serving the semiconductor industry.
A Master's degree in a technical field and/or an MBA is a plus
PMP Certification is a plus
