Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Project Controls - Scheduler to work within their facilities located in Martinez, CA for a 24-month contract.

Summary:

The Project Controls Scheduler will support the Engineering Department in project development and execution. This includes execution of standard budgeting, forecasting, cost control, earned value and change management practices throughout the life of a project.

Responsibilities:

  • communications and reporting networks for data gathering, review, analysis and presentation of recommendations to ensure projects remains on schedule and within budget.
  • schedule status & recommendations to the project teams to maintain the projects within approved budgets and cash flow constraints.
  • with project teams to develop and maintain project work breakdown structures according to MPC & Project Controls standards.
  • and maintain project performance measurement systems (Primavera P6) and reports for contractor progress.
  • both MPC and contractors adhere to project control procedures and reporting requirements.
  • Project Controls Supervisor with monthly portfolio and project status reporting.
  • with various departments to gather information, communicate issues, and resolve problems.
  • and keeps current master program and project plans as well as sub project plans for monitoring and tracking.
  • information as needed on the content, modification, or presentation of project schedule.
  • and records the impact of work performed and not performed as scheduled. Evaluate actual engineering progress and provide regular schedule updates.
  • with Operations, Owners, and Subcontractors to discuss impact of work and resolution of problems.
  • to the development of working schedules for Estimating, prior to execution date, which sufficiently illustrates the sequence of work activities and project timeframe.
  • and issues preliminary phased schedules.
  • resource loading data into schedules as required.
  • the appropriate project team members and MPC's estimating procedures as a means of ensuring that proper planning is completed prior to the commencement of work.
  • Project Managers in creating short-term schedules, monitor such schedules to determine impact on master schedule, and help in formulating actions to correct scheduling problems.
  • & maintain regular manpower estimates/histograms for current, upcoming, and future work for short term and long-term forecasting manpower needs.
  • EVM analysis on projects in engineering phase.

Requirement:
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or an equivalent field preferred.
  • proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Advanced Excel Experience) and experience with SAP.
  • and Scheduling software Primavera P6 is required.
  • Preferred: Minimum of four years of experience in executing, contracting, planning and scheduling projects work required.
