Title: Assistant Controller Compensation: $130K base salary
Growing nonprofit is looking for a Controller with HUD and Real Estate experience. This person will need to be a dynamic professional with outstanding communications skills. See the requirements below.
Responsibilities:
5 plus year's experience in nonprofit
Strong general ledger, close and financial statement experience
Prior HUD experience Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Program, HUD public housing, EOHLC programs, and local funding programs
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ("GAAP") and Governmental Accounting Standards Board ("GASB")
Driving accounting, budgeting, performance monitoring, analysis, trending, financing, loans, mortgages and financial reporting and cost allocations
Perform financial analysis and modeling to assist both the planning and monitoring of the organization and all of its lines of business, including housing development, housing operations, and fundraising
Manage 3+ staff and keep monthly reporting on-schedule
Work with third party accountants and auditors to complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial schedules, reporting, and audits
Requirements:
Minimum eight years of progressively responsible experience in real estate finance and accounting
BS in Accounting and a CPA with real estate audit experience is a plus
Construction and development accounting experience and Yardi experience required.
Ability to manage external and internal relationships
Outstanding verbal and written communication skill
