The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented team player who will oversee the purchasing process and forecasting of raw materials and packaging supplies. You will process purchase orders, identify cost savings, manage material pricing, manage material forecasts, assist with inventory management, document supplier performance, and maintain supplier relations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Purchasing:
Process purchase orders for all production raw materials and packaging supplies
Work with production scheduling to ensure communication of all material-related issues
Identify cost savings opportunities in line with quality, service, and supply constraints
Manage material pricing to ensure accuracy for quoting and open orders
Process supplier price changes and maintain associated documents
Assist in the coordination of material rejections
Evaluate supply chain options to ensure dual sourcing when possible
Assist in product and supplier searches as new products are required
Forecasting and Inventory:
Manage material forecasts with suppliers based on the GOEX sales forecast and supply chain constraints
Monitor and adjust min/max targets and supplier lead times in the ERP system to drive accurate order management and inventory control
Assist with inventory management such as cycle counting, month-end counts, root cause analysis
Reporting:
Document supplier on-time delivery monthly and assist with corrective actions as needed.
Document material stock outs monthly
Document expedited orders monthly
Report supplier issues encountered in service or order processing
Supplier Relations:
Assist or conduct supplier audits and reviews as necessary
Maintain professional communication with all suppliers
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Business of Supply Chain preferred; and/or three years of experience as a buyer
Proficient with spreadsheet and word processing skills
Excellent prioritizing and organizing skills
Ability to keep information confidential
Effectively communicate verbally, written and in electronic formats to co-workers and suppliers
